CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Full-time
DEPARTMENT: BBC Sport
LOCATION: Salford
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,500 – £38,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You’ll play a key role in our live coverage and programme teams, contribute to award-winning podcasts, and craft bespoke social media content for BBC 5 Live Sport.

Your insight into the unique 5 Live Sport brand will ensure you stay across our podcast portfolio and weekly on-air content, helping us deliver distinctive, engaging sports coverage that resonates with millions.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • You’ll have the opportunity to work on our digital coverage of Premier League, Champions League, WSL, and international tournaments. The Six Nations, Grand Slam tennis and more. When it comes to making podcasts you’ll work on strategies to promote and share them. Always developing treatments of the highest quality to deliver creative and engaging content;
  • You’ll need to show a passion for sport and know how to use the Adobe Suite, with skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
  • You’ll need to have good experience creating innovative social content, with a knowledge of production tools such as (but not limited to) CapCut.
  • You’ll be expected to come up with clear treatments and proposals on how to use our digital platforms to promote and cover live sport, radio programmes and podcasts.
  • There will be opportunities to attend global sporting events, planning, filming and editing content with our on air colleagues and audio producers.
    Please Note:  You will be required to work flexibly to deliver live sport programmes from around the world and throughout the day and night, both weekday and weekend.

 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • The ability to use a range of video and image editing tools to create, edit and deliver output to the highest professional standards, using Premiere Pro and the Adobe suite specifically.
  • Strong creative skills and editorial judgement that you can use in digital content for the 5 live Sport branded channels, including Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok, plus collaborative efforts with other areas of BBC Sport.
  • A demonstrable passion for sport and the ability to tailor different treatments for different audiences ensuring that the output reflects the audiences we serve.
  • The ability to film, edit and produce content on location to compliment and promote our live coverage and podcasts when opportunities arise.
  • Experience in audio production across linear or on-demand content (live radio or podcasts).
