Job summary
To work as part of the EFM operational team, responsible for providing a comprehensive support service in the hospital environment. The primary function is to provide an effective security service for staff, patients and visitors to ensure a safe and secure environment. You will be required to work in many areas of the hospital site following the required training. To provide a high quality responsive, efficient and effective patient support service to wards and departments within North Manchester General Hospital acting in a caring and professional manner.
Shift pattern will include weekends and nights where Agenda for change enhanced pay will be included. Possible earnings when including guaranteed enhancements £26,500.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide an immediate response for requests of assistance of violent and aggressive situations from patients and visitors ensuring that their personal safety and the safety of staff, patients and visitors is maintained.2. Provide a security presence in agreed locations and provide a responsive service as required.3. Upon request of staff assist with requests to watch/monitor patients that may be at risk of absconding or harm to themselves or others.4. Respond to all alarm activations (intruder, panic alarms) for all Trust buildings and grounds and take appropriate actions as necessary.5. Provide a response to all fire incidents in accordance with set procedures.6. Undertake reception duties from the security control room as and when required.7. Provide escort duties as required.8. Perform regular security patrols of hospital car parks, grounds and buildings acting as a deterrent to criminal activity and anti-social behaviour and ensure all suspicious incidents are reported and any untoward behaviour is challenged as required.9. Respond to reports of persons trapped in lifts, providing reassurance and assistance as required.

Essential
- SIA licence for static guarding/door supervisor
- Conflict resolution/physical intervention qualification
- Good general education
Desirable
- Full current UK driving licence
- SIA licence for Public Space Surveillance (CCTV)
- Experience in dealing with the public
- At least two years experience working in the security industry
Knoweldge and Experience
