An opportunity exists for a Landscape Craft operative within the Environmental Services Unit who will be responsible to carry out craft skills necessary in the maintenance and construction of landscaped areas within the grounds of the University campus. Assist Supervision a team of gardeners. To assist the Environmental Services Group to implement standards, and make efficient use of all resources working within a general framework of “best value” A current U.K. driving licence and a vocational qualification to NVQ III or equivalent in a horticultural related discipline together with substantial vocational experience demonstrating supervisory ability in an appropriate horticultural discipline. OR a clean and current driving licence with extensive vocational experience and appropriate craft and supervisory qualifications Experience at supervising groups of multi-disciplinary, craft and manual in-house staff and contractors.

Must have working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

Man management and related Human Resources issues

Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the Points Based System.  Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK in order to be eligible to take up the post.
