Website CO-OP LIVE

From casual workers to our senior leadership team, we are passionate about our people and culture. We proudly support the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter as a Real Living Wage employer.

About the Venue

Since opening our doors to up to 23,500 fans per show, Co-op Live continues to attract world-class talent and events, drawing comparisons to and surpassing the world’s greatest live entertainment venues in show programming, sound, fan experience, premium hospitality, food and beverage, and more. The UK’s largest live entertainment arena is driven by a dedicated team of music and live event lovers, passionate about offering every visitor, fan, artist, and partner an unrivalled experience, before, during and after every event, as well as giving back to our local community and our planet.

Partnership is at our heart, with Co-op Live excelling through meaningful alliances with the likes of naming rights partner Co-op, united by a joint vision to be the very best. The first venue in the UK for owners and operators Oak View Group (OVG), Co-op Live spearheads expansion into Europe and rest of world, a jewel in the crown of a globally renowned portfolio.

Role Purpose

Help keep the UK’s most exciting live entertainment venue running at its best

At Co-op Live, we don’t just host world-class events – we make sure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork. Now we’re looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Apprentice to join our team and learn how to keep one of the UK’s busiest arenas in top condition.

From electrical and plumbing work to lighting, HVAC, and general building systems, you’ll get hands-on experience maintaining the heartbeat of a venue that welcomes some of the biggest names in entertainment. You’ll be part of the action, making sure our spaces are safe, operational, and show-ready – whether it’s for a packed gig, a high-energy rehearsal, or a special event.

Responsibilities

You’ll dive into the world of venue maintenance, supporting planned and reactive tasks that keep our arena running smoothly. One day you might be replacing a light fitting in the main bowl, the next you could be shadowing our engineers as they troubleshoot a technical issue backstage. You’ll help prepare the venue for events, carry out checks on vital systems, assist with equipment upgrades, and learn to diagnose and fix faults quickly and safely. Along the way, you’ll follow health and safety best practice, support our sustainability mission, and work closely with experienced technicians to develop real technical skills in a truly unique environment.

What Co-op Live will give to you

Alongside the benefit of working with an awesome team of talented people, we want to help you get the best out of your work and have a work life balance.

  • Provide you with development opportunities and regular one to ones
  • Key objectives for you to succeed in your role
  • Your general wellbeing is at the forefront of our minds, we understand the importance of balancing work and personal commitments
  • This is an office base role, it’s really important we work together to mobilise the biggest music and live entertainment arena in the UK

Salary: Up to £28,000 dependent on experience

Please note this role is working 5 out 7 days per week and supports our events, therefore weekend and late evenings are required.

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Employer pension scheme
  • Private Health Care scheme – Vitality
  • Life Assurance 4 x basic salary
  • Eyecare vouchers
  • WeCare Employee Assistance Programme to support you and your family 24hrs, 7 days per week when you need the service
  • Company sick pay scheme
  • Enhanced family friendly benefits
  • Office fruit & snacks
  • Team social events

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

What we’re looking for

No previous experience? No problem. If you’ve got a positive attitude, a hands-on approach, and a love for learning new skills, you’ll fit right in. An interest in live events is a bonus – but your enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in are what matter most.

A nationally recognised qualification in property or facilities maintenance, real on-the-job training, and the chance to work in one of the most exciting live event spaces in the country. You’ll get exposure to the inner workings of world-class shows, learn from skilled professionals, enjoy great staff perks and wellbeing benefits, and open the door to genuine career progression.
