Job summary

We are looking to hire a Porter to work full-time 37.5 hours per week over a 24 hour 7 day weekwithin the Portering Service at Salford Care Organisation.

You will also be required to be flexible in your working pattern as you may be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

 

Main duties of the job

You will be required to carry out the full range of portering duties, which may include driving vehicles off and on, site, transfer of patients around the site by wheelchair, trolley or bed, including deceased patients and all associated mortuary duties.

You may also be required to transfer medical notes and medical supplies around the hospital site to various wards and departments. In addition to working on waste duties with the waste team. Please see job description for full details.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic English both written and verbal
  • Basic maths skills
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence

Experience

Essential

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of working various shift patterns

Knowledge

Desirable

  • Knowledge of hospital environment
