JOB BAND: A
CONTRACT TYPE: 4 x Fixed term contracts/attachments, Full-time
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Audiences
LOCATION: Salford Quay House or London Broadcasting House – Hybrid (2 days in office)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £23,000 – £26,000 (plus London weighting allowance if based in London) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We need you in our Audience Research department! We are looking for four bright, motivated individuals, who can bring something new to the BBC.
This year, we’re recruiting four roles based in our Salford and London offices, that will work across teams like News, Sport, TV and Radio. It’s an 18 month contract starting in September 2025 and running til March 2027. WHY JOIN THE TEAM
Our department is at the heart of everything we do here and by joining as a Research Assistant you will get to experience first-hand the variety and impact of what we do. We’ll also be offering you training in the fundamentals of market research.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Drive daily analysis and reporting of audience data to support the Audiences teams
- Respond to ad hoc data requests with accuracy
- Contribute to longer-term strategic projects with data-driven insights
- Leverage industry datasets and a range of research sources
- Deliver actionable audience insights that inform smart, impactful decisions
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience using data, either at work, as part of your degree, or in your other recent education
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Proven and strong written communication
- Proven and strong verbal communication
- The ability to think critically and problem solve
