Technology and Data Risk Analyst
£29,000 – £35,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6B)
Manchester city centre – in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office once per week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

We’re open to applications from people who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.

We’re reshaping our Digital, Technology & Data function for the future, creating new opportunities, strengthening our capability, and building clearer, more resilient ways of working so we can deliver even better services for our Co-op, our colleagues, members and customers.

We’re looking for a Technology & Data Risk Analyst to join our Digital Technology & Data Risk Team and help us provide accurate risk information, reporting and insights that support effective decision making across the function. You’ll work closely with our risk team and technology colleagues, gathering and analysing data, testing controls and producing reporting that helps us identify trends, manage risks and continuously improve the way we work.

Why this role matters

As a Technology & Data Risk Analyst, you’ll play an important role in helping us understand and manage the risks that come with operating and evolving our digital services. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys working with data, spotting patterns and improving processes. Whether you already have risk experience or are looking to build a career in risk management, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and have the opportunity to contribute to work that supports the whole Digital Technology & Data function.

What you’ll do

•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk reporting to support risk management activities and decision making across the function
•    Gather, analyse and present risk data, metrics and insights for a range of stakeholders
•    Prepare reporting, dashboards and governance materials to support risk discussions and oversight activities
•    Support Risk Managers and the Head of Risk by assessing controls and helping determine their effectiveness
•    Identify trends, patterns and emerging issues across risk and control data to support continuous improvement
•    Help ensure risk information is readily available and accessible for risk owners and leadership teams
•    Support the ongoing embedding of a positive risk culture across Digital Technology & Data
•    Contribute to improvements in reporting, analytics and risk management processes using a variety of tools and technologies

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

•    Experience working in risk management, ideally within a technology, digital, data or operational environment
•    Experience working with data, reporting, analysis or governance activities in a business, technology or operational environment
•    Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across reporting and data
•    The ability to identify trends, question information and draw meaningful insights from data
•    Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues across different teams
•    A curious, proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
•    Experience using reporting and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, databases or similar technologies
•    An interest in risk management, governance and controls

We know some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every requirement. At Co-op, we’re committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly, we still encourage you to apply.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

•    An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
•    A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    Private healthcare
•    Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
•    30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
•    Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
•    Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
•    24/7 colleague support service
•    Training and support for your development and career progression
•    Cycle-to-work scheme
