The role

As Airfield Coaching & Towing Manager you’ll be responsible for the day to day operation of the Airfield Coaching function, comprising of around 130 FTE and a fleet of 45 airfield coaches operating 24/7/365. You’ll ensure resources and vehicles are available for transferring passengers and crew between aircraft and the Terminal building, whilst providing inspirational and engaging leadership to ensure service is delivered in an efficient, customer focused, and safe manner. You’ll also work in partnership with the wider Aerodrome Operations team and ground handling agents to develop a seasonal aircraft towing plan which optimises contact stand utilisation and balances aircraft pier service levels and remote operations which require airfield coaching

 

What will make you successful in the role?

We are looking for someone with experience of leading a large operational team in a highly complex and dynamic operation where demand profiles can quickly change and service levels must be maintained. You will be an inspirational engaging leader who is empowered to create a great working environment for our colleagues and delivering a great service to our customers. As an ambassador for safety, you’ll have a good working knowledge of Health & Safety management and the ability to develop and write procedures and safe systems of work. You’ll also have excellent interpersonal skills as you’ll be chairing meetings and communicating across a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will also be able to analyse and interpret data, drawing insight to support decision making and the continuous improvement of service standards, operational efficiency and safety.
