The role

This position is a fixed term apprenticeship leading to a Data Protection & Information Governance Practitioner Level 4 qualification. On-the-job practical training will be provided alongside a comprehensive training plan that, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, could lead to a permanent role within the Data Protection function.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the execution of MAG’s Data Protection and Privacy Strategy. The Data Protection and Information Governance Apprentice will be responsible for assisting the organisation in its compliance with information governance and data protection best practice and associated laws and regulations.

During the programme, you will:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day coordination of individual information requests.
  • Advise and support business areas on breach related incident management.
  • Manage the DPO inbox and triage/escalate to the Data Protection Manager and/or Data Protection Officer as necessary, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of enquiries and transactional requests.
  • Demonstrate excellent and effective communication skills with all stakeholders within MAG and externally.
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of the organisation’s information and governance framework such as:-

-Record of Processing Activity (ROPA)

-Reviewing Standards and Process Documents

-Support with data breach investigations

-Support with Privacy Notice requirements

-Accountability Framework

This role will require the successful candidate to work on their own and in a range of team settings

 Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 (ideally including English & Maths)
  • Live in England and have the right to work in the UK (Government funding requirement)
  • Able to travel to Manchester Airport regularly
