The role

The Engineering and Baggage operations team maintain a wide range of infrastructure including baggage handling systems, airfield ground lighting, security and Screening equipment, automated environmental water monitoring apparatus and so much more.

As an engineering apprentice at MAG, you will have the opportunity to learn about the airport environment and how the engineering and baggage function supports the wider business. You will acquire knowledge and skills in various aspects of engineering, from design and maintenance to troubleshooting and innovation. You will also work on developing your problem-solving abilities and your creativity, with the aim of becoming a qualified engineering technician at the end of your apprenticeship.

How to apply & selection process:

  • Step 1: Online application with current CV and optional covering letter – apply before Monday 22nd July 2024 at 11:59pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Step 2: Online testing. After screening your CV and application, you will be asked to do some online tests. You will receive an email with the tests between the 23rd – 26th July 2024.
  • Step 3: Assessment Centre. If you do well in the online tests, you will be invited to our assessment centre at Manchester Airport. We expect this to happen w/c 12th August 2024.

To qualify for funding for this apprenticeship, you will need to have at least 5 GCSE’s, grades 9-4, including Maths, English & Science. You will be asked to evidence this at the point of interview.
