The role

The role of a Motor Transport Workshop Operative will include a variety of tasks related to Motor Transport operations, including mechanical handling, deliveries, collections, steam cleaning, and driver operator checks on vehicles. Assist technicians in servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, plant, and fixed assets to meet safety, legislative, and performance standards. Keep workshop environments, plant rooms, sub-stations, and hydrants safe and tidy, conduct routine checks, and report any faults to the Workshop Manager. Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by MT Management.

 

Supervise ground fuel stocks, including deliveries to static tanks, standby generators, and mobile tankers. Ensure sufficient operational stock is maintained and complete all associated documentation (electronic and paper) for quality checking and invoicing. Provide ground refuelling services for the Aviation Viewing Park, critical operational equipment (Standby Generators and Snow Fleet), and external customers as directed.

What will make you successful in the role?

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • HGV Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • ADR Licence (tanks and packaging preferred)
  • Experience working with fuelling tankers (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a vehicle workshop
  • IT literate
  • Strong health and safety awareness
  • Flexible work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
