Job summary

The Information Governance department is seeking to recruit an Assurance & IG Administrator to support improvements to our services. To provide a comprehensive and high – quality administrative support to the corporate Group Digital Services Governance and Assurance function, with particular focus on Information Governance services.

Main duties of the job

To have a good working knowledge o the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, Data Protection legislation and Information Governance (IG), and ensure their knowledge is in line with latest guidance.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • HND or equivalent level education and training

Desirable

  • Professional qualifications such as Information Governance Certificate qualification and/or evidence of considerable information security and Data Protection experience in the NHS.

Experience / Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience within a complex organisational environment
  • Experience in providing a robust administrative service
  • Fully competent in the use of MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Good understanding of IT security issues relevant to Healthcare
  • Provision of support for meetings including preparation of papers (e.g. agenda / papers) and accurate minute-taking

Attributes

Essential

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage own time and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Sound verbal reasoning skills with the ability to communicate accurately and appropriately with individuals from across the organisational hierarchy
