Job summary

The Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all of our hospital sites within the NCA.

 

Main duties of the job

You will have a key role in supporting the departments responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of Medical equipment. This will Include first line support to users of Medical equipment to optimise systems up time to gain maximum use of Medical equipment.

Ideally, you will possess a minimum of HNC in Electronics and Clinical engineering and have relevant experience since qualifying in the field of Medical Electronics. Knowledge in the application and repair on a wide range of Medical equipment used in a hospital and community is essential although some specific training will be provided.

Consideration may be given to applicants will reduced knowledge and skills, who follow a personnel development program on a reduced grade.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • HNC (Level 4/5 BTEC) qualification in electronic engineering.

Desirable

  • Electronic Engineering Degree.

Professional Registration

Desirable

  • Register for clinical technologists (RCT).

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a field of electronics maintenance and repair in a workshop environment.
  • Specialist knowledge in the application and use of a wide range of medical equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience of current legislation recommendations for the management of medical equipment.

Desirable

  • Wide range of supplier approved training on the servicing and repair of medical equipment
  • Experience of working in a ISO9001 environment.
  • Experience of working with supplier to resolve and manage clinical risk with the use and application of medical devices.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Full clean UK driving licence.
