Delivery Manager

Transport for Greater Manchester is seeking a Delivery Manager within our Information Systems (IS) function.

Your role

An IS Delivery Manager works at the heart of technology, infrastructure and change initiatives. Working in multi-disciplinary teams with lots of autonomy to deliver transformational change (people, process and technology) within a variety of business areas. The role also provides support to developing the wider BA and Delivery practice.

We are in the process of delivering the Bee Network which means delivering an integrated, London-style network in Greater Manchester. We’re bringing buses back under public control, we run Metrolink and cycle hire services and have a really ambitious programme of infrastructure programmes to make our city-region’s public transport network accessible, affordable, reliable and safe.

What you’ll bring

• You’ll have experience in project delivery, excited by different types of initiatives that underpin organisational strategy.  Skilled at leading and managing projects from inception through the full life cycle to implementation and close out. You will have different tools, techniques, and methodologies in your toolkit for managing all sorts of projects, with the ability to plan, monitor, review, report and escalate where necessary. You’ll be a confident practitioner of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

• You will be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and adapting your engagement style to get the best outcome, having excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• You’ll have experience of improving your team’s way of working and effectiveness however big or small a change may be and able to lead and motivate. Committed to collaboration and creating the best possible environment for the team to succeed.

• You will be adaptable and reflective, able to work on your own initiative with excellent time management skills.

• You will be comfortable managing conflict where it arises and confident with your negotiation skills.

What we offer

This is a permanent role with a salary of £56,939 – £62,266 per annum. This is made up of a basic salary of £47,539 – £52,866 plus a market supplement of £9,400 per annum, which is paid monthly and reviewed annually. Salary will be based upon skills and experience.
