About the Role

Your Role

In this role you will contribute directly to helping make travel safer for customers, by ensuring TfGM is resilient during disruption, delivers mandatory security requirements and supports the Greater Manchester family response to Major Emergencies.

As a Resilience Officer, you will play a key role in delivering Transport for Greater Manchester’s Resilience work programme, helping to ensure the organisation remains prepared and responsive to emerging challenges. You’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of work while collaborating closely with Resilience Managers on projects that promote safe and secure journeys for passengers. This cross-functional position will see you working across multiple teams to strengthen organisational resilience and support strategic initiatives.

Who are we?

It’s a critical and exciting time for public transport in Greater Manchester, and we’re seeking a Resilience Officer to join our Resilience team and help shape and develop the organisations Resilience and Security preparedness capability.

What you’ll bring

You will be keen to work in partnership with a wide range of agencies, able to develop effective relationships, influence stakeholders and be able to articulate complex transport issues.

You’ll have excellent report-writing skills, knowledge of Resilience (or a related discipline) alongside relevant statutory frameworks.

You’ll play a visible role in supporting the organisation’s Incident Response therefore an ability to remain focused delivering pragmatic solutions is essential.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with partners from emergency services, local authorities through the Greater Manchester Resilience Unit (GMRU) ensuring TfGM delivers its responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act as a category 2 responder.

For this role you are required to undertake Police and national security vetting, work flexibly, participate in on-call rotas and operational activities as required.

This is a permanent role and comes with a salary of £40,650 – £45,107 per annum depending on experience.
