Overall Purpose of the Job

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop an interactive application for designing robotic solutions from a set of mission and environmental requirements, answering two key questions: Given a robot, what tasks can it perform? and Given a task, what robots can perform it?

The application will leverage ongoing research to describe robot systems and map robot functionalities and tasks.

The ideal candidate will be a creative and methodical engineer with experience on and expertise in, user interface development for data-driven applications and an interest in robotics, AI, or knowledge representation.

You will be working closely with a team of PhD and Postdoctoral researchers from The University of Manchester, who are developing the underlying technology. You will also be working closely with Amentum engineers and users to develop an intuitive application which can be integrated into their work streams.

The successful candidate will be seconded into Amentum’s offices in Warrington, UK. You also be required to travel regularly to The University of Manchester campus to work in the dedicated CRADLE research space.
