Starting Salary of £21,500 per annum, increasing each year, tuition and accommodation fees paid.

Engineers aren’t born, they’re bread, and we’re gearing up to welcome applications for our 2026 Engineering Apprentices to join our family based in our Bolton Bakery.  We are looking for our new Apprentices to have a passion for engineering and to be available to join the family in August 2026.

Your first year will be spent attending a full-time residential course with our national training provider, Midland Group Training Services, based in Coventry. Accommodation will be provided in newly built Student accommodation, which is only a short walk from the training facility and will be funded as part of the course. The Recipe

To attain skills and knowledge which will enable the provision of a high standard engineering design service to support central and site Engineering capital projects, infrastructure changes and overall engineering feasibility process.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  • To attain skills and knowledge to ensure design outputs conform to Health & Safety legislation, policy and standards
  • To attain skills and knowledge to enable the interpretation of business Asset Care strategy and the alignment of engineering design outputs.
  • Ensures design solutions adhere to relevant standards, to ensure design for safety, hygiene, operation and maintenance tasks are incorporated
  • Design compliance with quality and food safety legislation, company standards and specifications in order to meet the requirements of professional and legal standards.

Essential Ingredients

  • GCSE A-C in English, Maths, Science and IT (or equivalent)
  • A keen interest in Engineering.
  • Carries out straight forward tasks using Microsoft software.
  • Ensure that self and others adhere to required H&S standards.
  • Ensures own outputs meet required quality standards.
  • Understands own responsibilities to treat others fairly and equally.
  • Collaboration and team working skills
