The Purpose:

Overseeing the day-to-day operation within the Venue Operations department ensuring the highest standards of food and service are maintained at all times. Effective planning and management of the Front of House team ensuing forecasted targets are met alongside a focus on health and safety legislation. At the forefront of the operation the Supervisor is to ensure any issues are managed in a timely manner and with a suitable resolution.

The Role:

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, set up and successful running of all United Events functions including staff allocations within budgeted targets.
  • Assist the Operation Managers in planning monthly labor forecasts for match day and non-match day set ups, linen and disposable product ordering.
  • Managing a team of anything up to 20 staff on match day set up ensuring the highest standards are maintained whilst payroll targets are achieved.
  • Planning staff requirements for set up and delivery of all United Events and match day hospitality set up.
  • Ensure the highest levels of food and service are delivered to all delegates attending Events within the Stadium on both match day and non-match day.
  • Oversee the setup of all match day hospitality ensuring all suites are set up to the highest of standards and all relevant equipment is in good working order (buffet equipment, coffee machines, beverage dispensing equipment)
  • Ensure any customer or staff complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently ensuring that any resulting action or reporting is completed immediately.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of Front of House staff along with the continual training and development of staff and promote an environment where staff are encouraged to achieve personal development.
  • Assist in the training and induction process for new members of staff, helping them to achieve the required standard. Ensure Company Procedures are followed at all times by yourself and the other team members.  Advise and correct when necessary.
  • Liaise with internal departments for Internal catering requests ensuring a timely response collecting required information, following Company Purchase Order process make the required bookings and ensure all services are delivered on time and to the correct standard.
  • Work closely with the Red Café, Museum & Tour Team and Venue Commercial Department to discuss, plan and execute special events and promotions
  • To undertake any other task as reasonably assigned by the Venue Operations management team.

The Person:

Skills & Experiences:

  • Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume Catering Operation would be beneficial as this role requires someone who can think on their feet, make quick and informed decisions, and is experienced in dealing with customer complaints.
  • Teamwork is a key element of the Venue Operation, and this role is instrumental in driving a team of individuals towards a shared goal. With a can-do attitude and approachable nature this person will have a proven track record in successful managing a team, praising where justified and taking action where performance has not met required standards.
  • A smart appearance is essential, and a confident, outgoing persona will help in the success of this role
