Job description

This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

Join us as a Content Designer

  • You’ll own the content design process for small to medium-sized projects, creating user-centred content for businesses, that aligns with experience design and enterprise strategies
  • You’ll grow your content design expertise and domain knowledge, while supporting colleagues through feedback, coaching and the sharing best practices
  • Enjoy real ownership of your work, crafting good content and making research led decisions that directly improve customer experiences
  • We’re offering this role for a period of 12 months

What you’ll do

As a Content Designer, you’ll deliver clearly defined content design activities, making sure work is completed within scope and agreed timelines. You’ll balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints to create clear, accessible and effective content.

You’ll make evidence-based decisions, contribute to discovery work, research, prototypes and interaction flows, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, refine solutions and improve outcomes. You’ll also communicate your recommendations with confidence, helping stakeholders understand the rationale behind content decisions.

Your work will focus on:

  • Defining content design scope, approaches and timelines for small to medium-sized projects, while contributing to larger programmes and initiatives
  • Creating content that balances clarity, creativity and brand consistency, while aligning with design system patterns
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and influencing decisions through evidence-based recommendations
  • Sharing progress, identifying risks and proactively managing alignment issues, escalating where appropriate
  • Applying content standards, accessibility requirements and regulatory guidelines to deliver inclusive, high-quality experiences and support continuous improvement

The skills you’ll need

You’ll have experience creating high-quality content and content patterns for digital products and services, informed  by user research and testing. You’ll bring a strong understanding of user-centred design principles and good working knowledge of how content design integrates with design systems and product development processes. You’ll also have working knowledge of accessible and inclusive design principles, with an understanding of how content supports customer journeys and service experiences.

You’ll need:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates clear, consistent and user-centred content solutions
  • Experience delivering content design projects in fast-paced environments using Agile ways of working
  • Strong skills in design thinking, content writing, information architecture and research
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating effectively with researchers, designers, developers and product managers
  • Confidence presenting work and explaining content decisions in a way that engages and influences stakeholders
  • A strong desire to learn, develop and grow your content design skills through hands-on experience
