Job description

This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

Join us as a UI Designer

  • You’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality digital experiences, providing a strategic approach with end-to-end design thinking
  • You’ll be operating in a fast-paced environment, combining strong UI craft with end-to-end design thinking to create intuitive and engaging customer experiences
  • It’s a leading role, where you’ll have the opportunity to work within cross-functional design teams, helping shape concepts, push ideas and deliver best-in-class digital experiences
  • This is a remote-first role, so you’ll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally and coming into the office once a week when you need to collaborate closely with your colleagues
  • We’re offering this role for a period of six months

What you’ll do

As a UI Designer, you’ll create polished, customer-focused digital experiences across a range of products and services. Working closely with UX designers, researchers and content designers. Your work will bring high-quality designs to meet the needs of our customers and the business.

Alongside strong visual and interaction design skills, you’ll bring creative and conceptual thinking, helping teams explore possibilities, challenge assumptions and turn early ideas into tangible concepts. You’ll push ideas beyond the expected and bring future experiences to life through high-quality design, prototyping, motion and storytelling.

Throughout your work, you’ll collaborate with others to develop and uphold design standards through peer reviews and knowledge sharing. You’ll also lead and facilitate workshops and produce craft reports, as well as contribute to playback sessions with multiple stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Pushing the usability and market success of our new and current products, enabling us to fulfil our business objectives
  • Producing journey maps, UX wireframes, hi-fidelity UI designs and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas to obtain stakeholder buy-in
  • Running and managing ideation, brainstorming and critique workshops with multiple stakeholders
  • Working closely with engineering, product, and business teams to find solutions to design challenges that appeal to customers

The skills you’ll need

We’re looking for an experienced UI designer with exceptional visual and interaction design skills, strong conceptual thinking and a good understanding of end-to-end design. You’ll combine outstanding craft with the ability to push ideas, helping teams move from opportunity and ambition through to compelling customer experiences. Experience designing for native mobile is highly desirable.

We’ll also expect you to have:

  • Experience of developing customer-facing digital applications and products and in launching customer-focused digital products
  • Confidence contributing to both vision-led innovation work and the delivery of production-ready designs.
  • Strong conceptual and creative thinking, with the ability to explore opportunities, generate ideas and turn abstract concepts into compelling customer experiences
  • Experience with motion design, animation or micro-interactions would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of creating solutions that combine the needs of the customer with the needs of the business
