Location: Bolton
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time | Permanent or Long-Term
Pay Rate: £168-£232 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm

Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality English teaching that supports pupils’ progress in English Language and Literature, fostering confident communication, analytical thinking, and strong written skills across Key Stages 3 and 4. Opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 may be available for suitably experienced candidates.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Plan, assess, and monitor pupil progress to inform future teaching
- Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations and support strong outcomes
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom engagement
- Contribute to departmental development and curriculum planning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and pastoral teams
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school environment
- Secure subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupil development
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional references relating to work with young people
