The volume of jobs being promoted on JIM has stayed consistent over the last few weeks, but we have seen significantly improving application clicks for each job.
With the increasing volume of followers on all social media platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook & JIM has become a go to place for job promotion in Manchester.
The 250 application clicks took 14 weeks, the next 250 has taken just 9 weeks, all very positive for our JIM clients.
The highest application clicks so far was for a TUI cabin crew position with 51 application clicks.

Manchester Jobs Fair - Old Trafford Stadium
Friday 13th October 2023
Job Fairs LTD are holding a free employment event at Old Trafford Stadium tomorrow with close to 50 employers exhibiting between 10AM and 1PM. It’s looking to be a great event being run by a company with plenty of experience at a great venue with amazing transport links.
They are advising potential applicants to bring CV’s as there will be opportunities for on site interviews and exposure to HR and Recruitment staff for exhibitors.
Nursing Times Careers Live North – Mercure Hotel Piccadilly

Nursing Times have a FREE physical and virtual event this weekend at the Mercure Hotel in Piccadilly. We believe the jobs fair is only physical and the accompanying conference is broadcasted virtually but this event is a great opportunity for anyone looking into roles in healthcare industry, the NHS or independent care.

Another free opportunity in the centre of Manchester for local businesses to meet potential candidates. Being run by The UK Careers Fair LTD who run events up and down the country it will be interesting to see what is on offer for jobseekers.

Manchester Airport Job Fair – The Forum Centre Wythenshawe
Wednesday 8th November 2023
Honestly this is looking to be one of the more fruitful events in our eyes as a free event specifically aimed at the wealth of opportunities Manchester Airport offers to South Manchester. Running between 10am and 1pm with both bus and tram transport links to Wythenshawe Town Centre where the Forum is located.
We will be keeping a close eye on this event as jobs at the airport are in high demand and always popular on JIM – Jobs in Manchester.

Manchester Job Show, Trafford Centre – September 2023
Connecting Job Seekers and Employers at The Trafford Centre
Last week we had the pleasure of being able to interact with both businesses and applicants at The Manchester Job Show that took place in The Orient at the Trafford Centre. It was great to see a free event like this where applicants could interact directly with employers, Hiring Managers and HR representatives.
In-Person Interaction with Decision Makers
The fact that decision makers were actively onsite at the event to provide applicants with guidance and to hold interviews in person the same day was refreshing to see. I think this knowledge is what drove so many potential candidates out to the event and made it stand out compared to most job fairs. This has definitely become a trend post covid and we discussed this with individuals seeking work both commuting to and at the event. It leaves a great impression when businesses make an effort and have hiring processes that aren’t just digital CV readers.
Diverse Range of Employers and Opportunities
We had a great time interacting with the selection of employers at the event and the diversity in fields and opportunity was really refreshing. We had the opportunity to speak to and gain feedback on JIM itself from many employers such as Express Solicitors, Holden Knight Healthcare LTD, Vision Express and many more. We also discussed their hiring processes and how they view, screen and interview applicants as well as what has worked for them in this post covid jobs boom it looks like we are currently in.
Plenty of Entry-Level and Apprentice Roles
Many of the employers had some great opportunities for entry level and apprentice roles with a lot of the larger rooted businesses providing positions with extensive training programs with very little requirements to hold applicants back.
Value of Face-to-Face Meetings
It was really enlightening to see so many people actively looking and helping to find work. As a digital jobs board and with nearly all of job applications being made online, we take for granted the opportunity to have face to face meetings between applicants and employers as it’s not the same interviewing or screening digitally over Zoom or Skype. Many of the employers agreed with this sentiment as their focus was on the applicant’s potential, attitude and motivation rather than meeting expectations such as prior work experience and or qualifications.
Massive Turnout and Diverse Sectors
The JIM team believes this event was a huge hit with a massive turnout of applicants, a variety of employers from healthcare, hospitality, transport, military, finance, law sectors and more with a great selection of entry level roles and even some seminars/presentations from the employers themselves to round out the day.
We hope to attend many more local jobs fairs promoting businesses and the economic growth of Greater Manchester. Co-op Live Announces Recruitment Drive Creating Thousands of Jobs in Manchester
Co-op Live, the upcoming entertainment venue in Manchester, has announced a recruitment drive offering 2,000 new casual jobs in addition to the 3,350 jobs generated by the venue’s construction.
Expanding Job Opportunities in Manchester and the North-West
The recruitment drive is in anticipation of the venue’s opening in April 2024 and encompasses a wide range of positions in the hospitality sector. These include front of house bar and food staff, security personnel, fire wardens, as well as administrative and managerial roles.

We think this project is great for Manchester as the opportunities it is generating range from highly skilled work to entry level positions with the workforce in mind with the real living wage. We understand some of the pain points with the worry of this venue contesting with the hospitality sector in the centre of Manchester but with Manchester’s robust and ever improving transport links getting between the two is easier than it ever has been.
The prolonged benefit and tourism generated will most likely benefit Manchester’s hospitality industry as a whole.
