The Role:

Manchester United Foundation is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Casual Skills Lab Officer.
As part of the Skills Lab team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our immersive and engaging character enrichment workshops to visitors from around the world. Located within the heart of Old Trafford, the Skills Lab learning facility provides a fantastic educational experience for educational and sporting groups from across the globe.
The Skills Lab Casual Delivery Officer will support the facilitation and delivery across the week (Monday-Friday during in peak delivery times) and/or weekend delivery (Saturday & Sunday) between 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive character education workshops and activities within the Skills Lab, tailored to the individual needs and interests of the participants.
  • Develop and deliver innovative curriculum content that aligns with the Skills Lab vision.
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all individuals feel valued and empowered.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute special events, projects, and initiatives that enhance the impact and reach of the Skills Lab education programme.
  • Communicate availability to Skills Lab Manager
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the Manchester United Foundation, promoting positive behaviour, and inclusivity at all times.
  • Act as a positive role model for young people, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development to enhance effectiveness in the role and contribute to the overall success of the Skills Lab programme.
  • Liaise with and contribute to the Skills Lab team mission of becoming an award winning, immersive experience by maintaining high personal and professional standards.

The Person:

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with large groups of young people.
  • Experience of delivering workshops in an educational environment.
  • A passion for sport as an educational tool.
  • Demonstration of academic achievement in secondary and/or further education.

Desirable

  • Minimum GCSE Grade C or Level 4 in Mathematics and English
  • Other sports coaching qualifications.
  • Youth work qualification.
  • Knowledge of national curriculum, personal development and character education.
