Job summary
We are looking for an organised and approachable ward clerk to join our team. You’ll be at the heart of the ward, helping things run smoothly and ensuring patients & visitors receive a professional and welcoming experience. If you enjoy a busy environment where no two days are the same then this role is for you.
You will provide general non-clinical advice, information and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, relatives and carers.
You will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward staff and respond to telephone enquiries from hospital staff, patients, GP practices and relatives efficiently and conscientiously.
You will need experience of dealing with the public / customer relations and keyboard skills.
Main duties of the job
- You will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward front desk.
- You will liaise directly with Consultants for direct admissions from GP’s and book patients in to the DVT clinic as instructed by clinical staff.
- You will maintain patient flow on EPR for patient transfers and discharges in a timely manner.
