Job description

Sports Coach

Location – South Manchester

Start Date – 14/09/2026

Pay – £95-£115 per day, depending on experience

Contract Type – Full-Time, Temp to Permanent

Are you an experienced sports coach, looking for a new role with SEMH? We are currently working on behalf of a SEMH provision in South Manchester, to recruit passionate and dedicated sports coach to join their team.

The school is a pupil referral unit that supports pupils aged between 4-11, with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Your role will be to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, using sports to encourage engagement.

As a Sports Coach, you will:

  • Create fun and engaging sessions involving sports and outdoor activity
  • Support pupils 1:1, building strong, trusting relationships
  • Maintain regular communication with SLT, parents and external agencies to monitor progress and development

What we are looking for:

  • Up to date safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
  • Team Teach training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
  • A passion for sports coaching and supporting young people

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
