This is a practical, operational role supporting recruitment from vacancy planning and approval through to offer stage, helping managers run fair and effective campaigns and ensuring candidates receive a clear, inclusive and positive experience.

Your Role

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will manage and coordinate recruitment activity for assigned vacancies. You will advise hiring managers, support attraction and advertising, coordinate shortlisting and assessments, maintain accurate records and use recruitment systems and data to monitor progress and resolve issues. You will also check that the right approvals are in place, support offer management, contribute to contingent workforce record-keeping and help improve recruitment processes, guidance and candidate communications.

Who are we?

You will join TfGM’s Talent Acquisition and Inclusion team and work closely with hiring managers, candidates, People colleagues and external recruitment partners. The team supports recruitment across the organisation, so you will handle a varied workload, balance competing priorities and play a hands-on role in keeping campaigns on track. You may also support careers events, inclusive attraction activity and improvements to how we recruit.

What you’ll bring

You will be comfortable using recruitment or HR systems, maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information. Strong communication, organisation and customer-service skills are essential, together with the ability to manage deadlines, build good working relationships and know when to escalate an issue.

What we can offer you

This career-grade role offers the opportunity to build your recruitment expertise through hands-on delivery, broader manager advisory work and increasing responsibility for complex campaigns and service improvements. You will be part of a supportive People Team and contribute directly to a fair, efficient and inclusive recruitment service for TfGM.

Our benefits include:

  • Generous annual leave starting at 28 days (plus bank holidays), increasing with service, with options to buy more.
  • Free travel on buses across Greater Manchester, plus rail or Metrolink travel for your commute, and access to our Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Local Government defined pension scheme with life cover of 3x salary and options to boost your contributions.
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave policies, including those supporting fertility treatment, alongside flexible and hybrid working and a special leave policy to support a range of unexpected events. Please note that qualification criteria may apply, including a requirement to have been employed with the organisation for a minimum specified period of time.

What’s next?

Please submit your CV and cover letter demonstrating how your experience meets the essential requirements of the role. Please note if you do not upload a cover letter, you will not be shortlisted.

Our shortlisting process is anonymised, so please do not include your name or contact details on your CV. If any personal details are included these will be visible to the hiring manager.

Please note we may close the advert early if we receive a high volume of applications.

NOTE TO AGENCIES we will be accepting direct applications only for this role. No fee will be paid if a candidate is hired for this position as a result of an unsolicited agency or search firm referral CV.
