The University of Manchester is seeking an experienced and delivery-focused ERP Project Manager to join the Strategic Change Office (SCO) and play a key role in delivering major enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex ERP implementation and digital transformation workstreams within one of the UK’s leading universities. We are looking for an individual with significant ERP delivery experience who can confidently operate within large-scale, fast-paced and complex programme environments.
You will lead the mobilisation, planning and delivery of ERP-related projects and workstreams, working collaboratively across Professional Services, Faculties, IT Services and external implementation partners to deliver transformational change across people, process, data and technology.
About the Role
As ERP Project Manager, you will take ownership of delivering key project and programme activities across the full project lifecycle — from mobilisation and planning through to testing, deployment and transition into business-as-usual operations.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery of ERP solutions aligned to strategic and operational objectives.
Workstreams may include Finance, HR/HCM, Procurement, Data Migration, Systems Integrations, Testing & Cutover, Reporting, and Business Change activities.
This role requires strong governance, stakeholder management and delivery capability, alongside the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive progress within a complex organisational environment.
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
· Significant experience delivering ERP implementations or large-scale enterprise system transformation programmes
· Experience operating within complex programme governance structures
· Strong project leadership and stakeholder management capability
· Experience managing delivery across multiple business and technical workstreams
· Experience working with system integrators, implementation partners and third-party suppliers
· Strong risk, issue, dependency and financial management skills
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
· Experience supporting organisational change and business process transformation associated with ERP delivery
Experience within Higher Education or similarly complex organisations would be beneficial.
